Vilanova i la Geltrú Cemetery

A visit to get to know one of the most solemn spaces in the city, and discover the art and history of the tombs and pantheons of Indians and famous people buried in the cemetery, such as the painter Joaquim Mir, the romantic poet Manuel de Cabanyes or the writer and politician Víctor Balaguer.

These funerary monuments become true works of art created by prestigious architects of the time, such as Bonaventura Pollés or Josep Domènech Estapà. These are tombs with funerary and mysterious symbolism, a sample of the experiences that make up a splendid part of the town's history.
